Document Center overview
Before using the Document Center you need to sign in with a profile that includes it.
This part was written from the interface and service source of the build serving DEV on 2026-10-09 (Document Center interface f3b92b7, service bb1cb28). On 2026-10-18 the Dashboard, the Upload document dialog and the Shared document page were observed in DEV with a synthetic company and synthetic documents (interface 44d2f38, service 6fd4193); what is still to be observed is listed under Not observed in Document Center screens.
The video below (in Brazilian Portuguese) walks through one insurance claim in the Document Center: the process, its documents and its history in one place.
What the Document Center does
The Document Center (ECM) keeps every document your company receives or produces, and the processes those documents belong to. In the platform menu it is called Document Center; inside it, the menu has two entries: Dashboard and My Drive.
- A process is a case that arrived with its documents — for example a form submitted through the Portal and run through Workflow. The Document Center keeps the case, its documents, what was extracted from them, and the history of every decision.
- A document can also be loose: uploaded directly, received by e-mail or through the API, without a process. Loose documents wait in an Inbox until someone links, archives or discards them.
- Documents live in folders. Each document keeps its versions, tags and a timeline of what happened to it.
Who uses it
| You want to | Profile you need | Where |
|---|---|---|
| See the activity of your company and upload a document | Any profile that includes the Document Center | Upload a document |
| Open a document someone shared with you by link | None — no account is needed | Open a shared document |
| Browse processes and folders, triage the Inbox, search, share | A company administrator or technical profile | Administrator manual, Document Center part |
The Dashboard is available to every profile that includes the Document Center. My Drive — processes, Inbox and folders — and the screens behind it are managed by company administrator and technical profiles, so they are described in the administrator manual. If a menu item described here is missing for you, your profile does not include it; ask your company administrator. See Profiles.
Where the documents come from
- Portal and Workflow. When a person you invited through the Portal submits a form, its documents run through Workflow and arrive in the Document Center as a process, with its review decisions. How a document is reviewed and returned for correction is described in the Workflow part.
- Sign. A document version that carries a signature is marked Signed in its version list. How documents are sent for signature is described in the Sign part.
- Direct. Documents uploaded from the Dashboard or from a folder, and loose documents received by e-mail or API.
Journeys that cross from one product to another are routed from Start here.
Journeys in this part
- Upload a document — from the Dashboard, into a folder.
- Open a shared document — what the person who receives a share link sees.
Screens in this part
The Document Center screens chapter describes the Dashboard, the Upload document dialog and the Shared document page.
Known limitations
- The Public shares quick action on the Dashboard opens the folder explorer. There is no screen that lists or revokes share links yet.
- Search documents and Browse folders on the Dashboard open screens that are managed by administrator and technical profiles.
